" Twilight Bandits "

Year and Place: 2024, Southern Mexico.

Brief: This series titled “Twilight Bandits” captures the vibrant traditional festival of a town in southeastern Mexico, where a unique cultural expression unfolds. During the festivities, groups of men dress as women, forming bands that celebrate both heritage and identity. For many participants, this event represents a rare opportunity to express their true selves in front of their community and, importantly, their families. It is a moment of courage for those who have not yet come out, allowing them to embrace their sexual identity in a supportive and festive environment. Through these images, I aim to highlight the intersection of tradition, self-expression, and the ongoing journey toward acceptance and understanding within the community.
